Introduction

The Spa is part of the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal hotel complex comprising approximately 2,000sqm of internal floor area divided by two floors at basement and ground levels. The Ritz-Carlton Spa is located in a beachfront stand-alone building and provides holistic rejuvenation and relaxation in a serene, meditative setting that takes the guests on a journey into tranquility.

The project

The project consists of Male and Female facilities inclusive of Customer Changing and Treatment Rooms, Hammam, Sauna, Steam Lounge, Rest Rooms and Beauty Saloon. The Shell and Core has been constructed inclusive of all external walls and finishes, external doors, external windows, GRC work, rendering, roof, waterproofing, roof plant plinths, internal walls and structural staircases, lift shaft, builders work holes for MEP services.

This work package includes supply and installation of Fit Out work to SPA Building, acceptance of care of works, insurance and quality. Protection of executed works providing own attendances self sufficient to complete the described scope of Works as per drawings & specifications, coordination with other works and Contractors are essential.

The equipment for Hamam, Sauna, and Steam and experience shower rooms will be provided and installed separately by a specialist contractor. ISG have implemented all decorative works to the aforementioned areas.

In addition to 16 luxuriously appointed treatment rooms, guest can enjoy separate male and female outdoor areas and their perfectly manicured lush greenery that bring respite during summer months and are a private oasis that comes with its own plunge pool and waterfall.

Challenges

The client expects a very high “Five Star” standard quality works as Abu Dhabi National Hotel anticipates to attract very high level dignitaries and guest to the building, so to works must reflect a feeling of “Stately but Contemporary.” ISG delivered the project on time despite the pressure on importation of various finish materials from different countries.
