Introduction
ISG was appointed by University of Birmingham to deliver the 28,000 sq ft fit out of it’s first global campus and state-of-the art teaching facility in Dubai.
The University of Birmingham is the first global top 100 and member of the UK’s elite Russell Group of universities to establish a campus in Dubai, creating a world-class learning environment for students from across the UAE and beyond.

The project
For this project, ISG delivered its first phase over an accelerated 12-week programme to accommodate the university’s first intake of students in autumn 2018.
We successfully delivered a range of advanced facilities comprising a 180-seat lecture theatre, a fully-equipped science teaching laboratory, and a state-of-the-art computer laboratory.
The scheme also included the provision of digitally-connected teaching spaces, tutorial rooms and seminar facilities, with ISG installing the very latest digital infrastructure to support the future growth of the campus.
The project was completed in November 2018, following a fast-track, 15-week programme to have it completed before the UAE National Day celebrations on 2 December

“The Middle East team captured every piece of information coming from the UK, and provided useful insights for us meet the local UAE requirements. Due to the effective communication and transparency between the teams, we were able to establish mutual trust and a working relationship that transcended geographical locations. It is evident that ISG is truly a global company, with the ability to deliver complex, high-quality projects across the world. The final project outcome and aftercare was excellent; we look forward to engage ISG again, and will highly recommend their professional services to others.”
